Focus on Periodic assessments rather than “exams” where rote learning thrives.

  1. Focus is more on ensuring that each child realises his/her inherent potential.
  2. Assessing students with clear transparent goal and objective.
  3. Assessing students with self and peer assessment.
  4. Assessing students with the relevant task.
  5. Assessing students to what extent the children are progressing and giving timely and appropriate feedback so that we can plan the next step forward for further growth.

Digital enhancement Learning

The term Digital-enhanced learning is used to describe the application of technology to teaching and learning. Adapting Technology in teaching is the latest norm, it is a broad category that isn’t particularly defined, but is transforming education and educational institutions beyond recognition.

    Why is it important?

Digital-Enhanced Learning is important for many reasons. It is not only important because it is the standard of education that is expected today, but it can also improve education.
  1. Kids can learn at their own pace: We know that kids learn at their own pace, and sometimes the traditional classroom makes it difficult to do so. Technology in education enables children to adjust to their own pace of learning. Students who need extra time can spend more time going over exercises until they understand, whilst students who need less support can continue ahead. It also frees up the teacher to help kids who need more support on an individual level.
  2. More resources: With Digital Enhanced Learning, educators are no longer limited to the textbooks that their institutions provide. By using other resources such as video, audio and interactive learning, students have many different ways to learn. Teachers can find creative ways to teach their students in an engaging way. Technology has changed the learning environment so that learning is more hands-on.
  3. Keeps kids engaged: Children often struggle to stay on task or interested, particularly if it is not interactive. Digital Enhanced Learning can make even the most mundane school tasks more engaging, which will help your students to stay focused.
  4. Necessary to succeed in the real world: The reality is that it is almost impossible to survive the working world without technology. Therefore it is better if children learn how to use tech sooner rather than later. Arguably, being computer literate is more important than some of the more traditional skills that are taught in schools.

    Why is digital learning better?

Digital learning can enhance learning experiences, save teachers time, enable teachers to better tailor learning to student needs, aid in tracking student progress, provide transparency into the learning process for all stakeholders, and much more.

How is Digital Enhanced Learning used in AJPS?

The school uses the application ENTAB ERP, which provides the kids with Online Library, Maintaining Students Records, Online Assessment, Sending Circulars, etc. They have also provided us with Parent Portal, Staff Portal, Principal Portal, and Management Portal. The functioning of the application is user-friendly and has been put to use daily. The preparation of notes, question papers for the assessments, evaluating the question papers have made not only the teacher’s life easier but also in students’ life as it is a lot easier to appear for exams online rather physically write. The application also provides the name list of teachers handling different subjects.  The entire above mentioned are available in ENTAB to make learning a lot simpler and engaging. Psychology and Counselling Using psychology in the classroom has always been an essential component of education, helping teachers to refine and develop instructional methods and create learning-rich classrooms. The principles of educational psychology help teachers understand their students’ motivations, social and environmental contexts, their learning history, as well as their strengths and weaknesses. Developmental psychology is also used in the classroom. Development psychology looks at the psychological, emotional and intellectual characteristics of individuals according to their age and stage of life. Our teachers take utmost care while dealing with children to tend to their needs. Individual attention is given to those children who require it the most. The function of the counsellor in schools has three elements: an educative function, i.e. to develop students personally and socially in the context of the school; a reflective function, which is the exploration of the possible impact of and contribution to personal and social development and mental health of practices in the classroom and other aspects of the school community; and a welfare function, which is the responsibility to plan for and react to issues which impact on students’ welfare. We have a full-time counsellor in school that is always there to help our children in guiding and helping them. Individually children are analysed by the counsellor with the help of class teachers and subject teachers to bring about all-round development in them.
